Big League Dreams -- Results
The Tigers played extremely tough this weekend, showing a glimmer of the Tigers of old. On Saturday the boys played flawless defense and were able to come away with two victories and the number 1 seed going into Sunday. On Sunday they Tigers faced their arch rival the Stix and as usual it was nail biter to the end. The Tigers came up just short but learned a lot about themselves and their teammates in the process. The Tigers continue to improve. Way to go boys, keep up the hard work.

What It Means To Be A Tiger!
To be a Tiger and wear the Tiger logo on your shirt is both privilege and curse, honor and responsibility, reward and hard work. But what does this mean?

To be a Tiger is a privilege few have the pleasure of experiencing. To experience the feeling of knowing you are a part of an organization that other teams fear before the first pitch is thrown, to know you can beat any team placed before you, and to know that the guy to your left and to your right will support you is not something very many players get to experience in a lifetime, much less at 10 years old. Yet, this privilege comes at a price. You must learn to overcome the curse of every team and every player wanting to be where you are, working every day to try and take your place, and hoping that you take for granted the place you hold. The curse of a Tiger is that every ball player wants what you have, and is willing to do whatever is necessary to take it away from you.

To be a Tiger is also an honor. The storied history of the Tigers is full of professional baseball players, college baseball players, and unbelievable athletes that have gone on to great things in this sport. It is an honor you must never forget, and think about every time you slip on your jersey, or step on a baseball field. In other words, the honor of being a Tiger comes with great responsibility. The responsibility to always play the game the way it is supposed to be played; even if that means you lose the game because of it. The responsibility to honor the game and the logo on your shirt above your own wants and desires. The responsibility to honor the team above all else.

To be called a Tiger is a reward. A reward for having a God given gift, and using the gift to its full potential. However, that reward only comes with a deep dedication to hard work. Being a Tiger is not a right, it is something given to those chosen few that have shown the talent, desire, and dedication to do the necessary to get better every day. The work required to stay a Tiger is greater than the work to become a Tiger.

A Tiger is not cocky, he is confident. A Tiger is not arrogant, he is sure of himself. A Tiger is not selfish, he is a teammate.

In short, to be a Tiger is to be something everyone else wants to be!
